Summer is Over: A Tribute
May 21, 2006Alas, today is summer’s last day. We already have classes tommorrow, and I can’t just slack off and let the summer syndrome linger, because we have to take care of our thesis. (Right now, we still haven’t got a TOPIC, which is A VERY SERIOUS MATTER. Poor us..T_T)
So, as a tribute to SY 2005-2006 Summer Term, I’m posting This entry. As you all know I had summer classes, I took up a religion subject so that we could get our thesis done, supposedly. What happened though, was that this whole subject took up our time, and we weren’t able to do our thesis, except of course for a little consultation here and there. Might as well didn’t take up summer classes…T_T
Anyway…
1) MakSci ROCKATHOLOGY - First Week of Summer
Lame picture, I know. Well, basically we went to MakSci (That’s Makati Science to you) to watch JC play. It was a rock concert where former Battle of the Band winners were invited to play. It became a HS reunion of some sorts and so me and Guintz decided to stay way back. This was the only picture I took with my lame phone…it the school’s vision-mission…erm..board?=) The performances were tolerable (well, most of them crammed their practices), though the last bands really did well. I remembered someone playing Pedicab’s Konti na Lang and people didn’t really respond very well because they didn’t know the song. Awwwww….. The minute I got home, which was about 11:30 in the evening, I got a good scolding from my dad…as in “Ganyan ba ang uwi ng Babae?“
2) Tambay
Well, my class was from 8 - 10:00, but I go home at about 5. When Thesis Consultations, Community Services, and Publicity Committee Meetings for the Org are not keeping me busy, I just hang out, particularly watch people play DotA. And now I’m wondering why nothing’s happening with our thesis.
<<—A scene at the ECES’ Winner Circle Meeting, Daryl was on a rampage…and we had RJ to stop him.

3) Pasay City Jail
After the frustrating encounter we had in Makati City Jail, we landed in Pasay City Jail for our community service. We did paralegal work, where we had to process papers for inmates who finished their sentence already but couldn’t get out. Well, the fun part was roaming Pasay City Hall and delivering papers to different RTCourts…the scary part was interviewing the Inmates. I was bothered by one inmates story/statement, where he said that if ever he got out of jail, he’ll do the same exact thing that got him there in the first place…plus, he doesn’t believe that earning the honest way will get him somewhere. And thus I know why our Penitentiary System doesn’t work.
4) LPEP
As Publicity AVPs, we get to welcome freshman students to the university. Staying up to 9 pm creating crepe paper flowers with the ECES executive board was fun, I get to talk to people I dont’ usually talk to…and it was not awkward or anything like that.^^
5) Jam Music Fest 2
Fact: I don’t mind going to concerts alone. I know its much more fun going to concerts with friends, but really, I don’t mind going alone. So after our supposed to be rendevouz for our thesis, I went straight to Greenhills Shopping Center to watch a 44-band music fest…though I only watched half of it. I was really disappointed that I didn’t see the bands I came there for (i.e. UpDharmaDown and Giniling Festival). I can’t stand there for hours without eating, and besides, I had to be at home by 9:30. Well, at least I saw Cookie Chua and Kamikazee in Person…and I had really funny observations/experiences during the concert. Like for example, I noticed how popular Rock/Alt/Pop Rock is nowadays. Gone are the days where Salbakuta is the in thing. Suddenly all these rakistas from taguig, malabon, valenzuela, popped out of nowhere, heaps of people wearing black started to flock the concerts. What’s funny is that people are banging their heads to HALE, I mean, Okey lang sana kung Kahit Pa eh, pero hindi….Blue Sky yung kanta, Amputcha hindi ko Ma-Take! I wish to create a much more detailed entry on this..(maybe next time?) And oh yeah, That’s Ebe climbing the stage whatchamacalit while singing Hari ng Sablay. More Pictures in the albums.^^
6) Visiting Saguijo
I was about to go home from WalMart (where I got treated to Over the Hedge by Elaine’s family..haha, siyet salamat talaga!) when I decided to get off the jeep and walked to Guijo st. I’m tired of blogging in english so mananagalog na ako.
And that’s about it for summer.

~sounds familiar. even at my age now it's still same cinderella story. if you don't call for pick up, better not go home… goes a litany of should and should nots. i guess i'll never learn how to take on tram. lest they don't want me to grow up.
